ABOUT US

Fishamble Architects are an architecture and design practice working from our studio on Fishamble Street, in Dublin's historic core. Previously operating adjacently as James Casey Architect Ltd. and studio4AR, we amalgamated to form Fishamble Architects. We are a young and enthusiastic firm of architects working on projects of varying typology, scale and complexity throughout Ireland and further afield.

We look to apply creative thinking to all aspects of projects from financing through to completion, and believe our flexibility as architects allows us good placement to take effect on each stage.

Beginning life as a design collective, collaboration is at our core; we enjoy working closely with clients, other designers and industry practitioners. With a focus on spatial conversations and inventive uses of material, we aim for an oblique simplicity in our finished products.

JAMES CASEY (DIRECTOR)

James graduated from the UCD School of Architecture with a 1st Class Honours degree in 2010. His thesis project was Highly Commended at the OPUS 2010 Architecture and Construction Awards.

James has gained valuable experience in the design, administration and construction of a range of building typologies at a variety of scales, having previously worked with Paul Keogh Architects, GKMP Architects, Tierney Haines Architects and McCullough Mulvin Architects.

Completing his Professional Diploma in 2013, James has been a member of the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland since 2015. He is a qualified Project Supervisor for the Design Process (PSDP). James formed James Casey Architect Ltd in April 2017 and amalgamated with Liam of studio4AR to form Fishamble Architects in October 2019.

LIAM Mc INERNEY (DIRECTOR)

Liam Mc Inerney is a registered architect with both the ARB (UK) and RIAI (Ireland). Having studied architecture in Dublin, Stockholm and London, Liam has worked for a number of years with firms in Ireland and the UK.

Working largely in turn-key/design-and-build firms has given Liam a firm base in the practicalities of construction and fit-outs, from inception to completion, including financing. He has worked on high-end design and fit-outs for retailers such as Jimmy Choo and Christian Dior, many domestic projects and a number of large-scale apartment schemes. During a number of years with Clive Sall Architecture, Liam oversaw global projects from New York to Tokyo, alongside a number of residential projects throughout London.

Since returning to Dublin in 2017 Liam has worked independently under the title studio4AR, a collaborative design collective formed by Liam, James and a number of others in 2010 producing entries to a number of global design competitions and festival installations. 4AR and JCA collaborated effectively on a number of projects before formalising the relationship as Fishamble Architects, of which Liam is currently a director.

EÓIN MURPHY

Eóin is a registered Architect with the RIAI (Ireland). He completed his undergraduate, postgraduate and professional qualifications in University College Dublin. He has worked with award-winning firms in Dublin and London, including DTA Architects, James Gorst Architects and as Project Architect at Donaghy & Dimond Architects, Dublin.
